Date, First Departure & Route

Route A, Faversham

About the event

Faversham is the oldest market town in Kent and has the oldest brewery in the UK – the Shepherd Neame brewery.

Come and join us as we begin the day with a really interesting and informative brewery tour and tasting! The 80-minute tour includes a visit to the Old Brewery Store, which features impressive displays of historic delivery vehicles, a recreated coopers’ workshop, bygone pub signs and a collection of hop picking memorabilia.

The tour ends with a tutored tasting of Shepherd Neame’s Kentish ales and speciality lagers and then the chance to visit the Brewery Shop to pick up a souvenir, gift or some of your favourite beer should you wish.

Friday is market day, so after the tour, there is free time to browse the market, explore the town and have a bite to eat before we finish the day in style with a delicious cream tea at the wonderful Walpole Bay hotel near Margate with its collection of antiques on display that make you feel as though you have stepped back in time – it’s a living museum!

Our coach will depart from The Barming Bull bus stop at 9.30am, Teston Village Hall at 9.40am and the Wateringbury Hotel bus stop at 9.50am

Returning to the Villages about 6.30pm.
