About the event
In 1666, the Great Fire swept away much of the London of our ancestors but the flames died to ashes to leave one corner of the city untouched. The gentle morning walking tour includes the precincts of St Paul's, a rose garden in the haunted ruins of Greyfriars, Postman's Park, historic Smithfield and London's oldest parish church - St Bartholomew the Great with its most spectacular interior. The walking is flat and will be manageable for everybody except those who rely on two sticks or a rollator. A wheelchair could be used and accommodated on the coach and the canal boat if it folds up. A coach journey, a gentle walk and a canal cruise! What better way could there be to enjoy early Summer?
Our coach will depart Old Road bus stop, East Peckham Village Centre at 8am, Hadlow Square bus stop at 8.10am, Hadlow Road bus stop, Tonbridge (junction with orchard Drive) at 8.20am, Rose and Crown bus stop, High Street Tonbridge at 8.30am and Tonbridge railway Station bus stop, High Street, Tonbridge at 8.40am.
Returning to the Villages about 7.00pm.
