Cruising Into Christmas £91 Routes A and B

A truly memorable day out has been arranged to see the wonderful lights in London at Christmas time, with a river boat cruise along the River Thames as the sun sets, from the Cutty Sark at Greenwich Pier to London’s Westminster Pier and a comfortable coach tour seeing the busy shopping streets and beautifully illuminated buildings.

We begin at Greenwich, where we will have time to perhaps do a bit of Christmas shopping at the renowned Greenwich Market, have some lunch in the Street Food market or have pie, mash and liquor in one of the local cafes. There is time to visit the Cutty Sark or the Royal Naval Museum (at individual cost) or Queen’s House (free) should you wish before meeting our top-notch Blue Badge Guide at 3.50pm at the head of the Cutty Sark and then boarding the river boat, at 4.10pm, for an hour-long cruise along the River Thames to Westminster.

The boat has a warm lounge with splendid views; there is a fully licensed bar (cash only) that also sells hot drinks and is open throughout the time on board. There are proper toilets and plenty of seating and lots of room to move around both inside and out on the huge open deck. You can enjoy the commentary, a mix of historical information and humour.

 It is wonderful to sail beneath a flood lit Tower Bridge, quite stunning! We disembark the boat at Westminster to rejoin the coach with the Guide for a tour of the London Christmas lights, followed by a visit to Kennedy’s Fish and Chip restaurant for fish and chips plus a hot drink before starting the homeward journey at 8pm/8.30pm.

Our coach will depart from The Barming Bull bus stop at 11.10am, Teston Crown City bus stop at 11.15am and Wateringbury Hotel bus stop at 11.20am, Hadlow Square bus stop at 11.30am, Hadlow Road bus stop (junction with Orchard Drive) at 11.40am, Rose and Crown bus stop, High St. Tonbridge at 11.50am and the Tonbridge Station bus stop, opposite Lidl at midday.

Returning to the Villages about 10pm.
