A Day in the New Forest £81 Routes A and B

An outing has been arranged to visit the New Forest!

We begin at the beautiful thatched public house on the edge of the forest, the Sir John Barleycorn, created from three 12th century cottages. This is possibly the oldest pub in the New Forest. We will enjoy a delicious two-course lunch of roast chicken with new potatoes, seasonal vegetables and gravy with vegetarian gnocchi as the alternative, followed by a sumptuous dessert of sticky toffee pudding. After lunch we slip into the forest following in the footsteps of Kings and Queens, commoners and gypsies, smugglers and lovers. Over the past millennium a wealth of myth and legend has wound itself around the forest trees like a clinging vine. Our expert Blue Badge guide will chart a course to the heart of this enchanting world. We'll visit picture postcard Minstead and Bolderwood before stopping in Lyndhurst to buy pub refreshments (at individual cost) before heading for home.

Our coach will depart from The Bull at Barming bus stop at 8.20am, Teston Village Hall at 8.30am, the Wateringbury Hotel bus stop, at 8.40am, East Peckham crossroads bus stop at 8.50am, Hadlow Square bus stop at 9am, Hadlow Road bus stop (junction with Orchard Drive) at 9.10am, Rose and Crown bus stop, Tonbridge High Street at 9.20am and Tonbridge Railway Station bus stop at 9.30am.

Returning to the Villages about 8.30pm.
